Prepares students for careers in the broad spectrum of manufacturing from machining through industrial design. Practical engineering and computer graphics experiences for college engineering courses will be gained. Engineering Drafting 1-2 is an advanced course in industrial drawing that builds upon and extends the knowledge and skills developed in Technical Drafting 1 & 2. Applies drafting skills to the world of manufacturing and construction by studying dimensioning, fasteners, descriptive geometry, intersections, developments, assembly drawings, and production drawings. Emphasis is placed on working and assembly drawings, jig and fixture design, mechanics of motion (gears and cams), sheet metal, technical illustrations, and advanced pictorial representation. *Note: Instructional lessons with "hands on experience" in computer-aided drafting problems using the latest types of software such as INVENTOR, SOLID WORKS, and AUTOCAD. This offers the student a variety of applications that make him or her more qualified to enter a career.
